What performance difference does this give (if any) and why?

Not 100% but I think the flybar above the head makes it a little smother for more FAI flying and below the head gives it a 3D flying style but like I said not 100% on that

I think the Bolink ad must be a USA thing, as I have not seen it over here. But you may have heard of a company called "No Fear" and they have it on some of their gear. My other favourite is "If your'e not living life on the edge...then your'e taking up too much space!". Another No Fear copy, but with the amount of Mountain Bike stuff i have had from them, I think I am entitled to steal the odd reference!
