I am finally at the point where I can get into the hobby financially and found this on eBay. Seems like an amazing deal. I was thinking of starting from a kit for my first heli but this deal sounds awefully good for the price.

Let me know what you all think.

Sounds like a good beginners package, I assume you already priced all that stuff out new and it was more expensive then he's starting it at. If it is, I don't see any reason not to get it. Good stuff, I personally think it's a good idea to start on a 50, as I know I wish I had. The guy has perfect feedback, which is always reassuring. Can't see any obvious reasons not too....anybody else catch something we missed?

No it looks good to me. Obviously have an experienced helipilot look it over before it's first flight but I say go for it.

Practice! It might be costly but it's the only way we get better!

Gonna Have to Return some XMAS gifts :)
I figure for $1100 shipped there isn't a better way to get into the hobby. Including the GY401 and an 8103 radio plus a fully dialed in 50v2, I dunno if you could compile this package new for 50% more.

Gonna have to do some soul searching. I prolly have over 100 hours on G2 learning helis and its probably time I bit the bullet. I can hover, nose-in, forward flight and almost have figure 8s. Perhaps the time has come.

I smell something fishy. You know the saying ‘if it looks too good to be true it probably is’. His feedback is too perfect. He gives a weak excuse as to why it has never been flown. Common if you had purchased such an item new after spending a heap of $$ you wouldn’t even fly it? He also claims to have 30V2 and a plane so why sell Tx? Why sell field charger? Why sell 50V2? Why sell temp gauge? I would be selling 30V2 instead. And what’s with this PPM Rx? 8103 comes with PCM Rx. Where is the PCM Rx?

He claims he has been flying 30V2 so why would he need help in setting up 50V2? If he is an accomplished heli pilot he should be capable of setting up the 50V2 himself and he would certainly want a fly of it.

Keep in mind I have seen posts of people being burnt by such too good to be true deals on Ebay before where the seller had such great feedback. They win the bid send the money and get nothing.

I looked at his feedback and he sold a 30v2 also. I'm pretty throrough when it comes to eBay. I actually bought a $25k boat on there so I know to do my homework.

Here's a 30v2 he sold.

"Am selling because I have lost interest in helicopters." Is the second line in the his statement for the one that he sold. But he has another to sell and is working on a 50V? Sounds fishy.

Just ask plenty of questions first.

I get the feeling a lot of people selling helis on e-bay are in it for a buck more than any thing, Ive asked questions on some of the helis before and get screwy answers , there was one of those Tianza helis on ebay and asked if it was like the raptors and the stinger and was told yes it is like the nexus helis and i will a parts supply soon.
I would keep your eyes open on RR here myself.

Hey I didn't ask for this fetish.!!!But I'am sure paying for it....

The price is not bad with the radio included. Could you do better? Probably. But IMO for what he's selling I would be asking close to the same amount. The draw of a package like this is that if you are starting out you are getting alot of what you'll need in a tidy package.

No matter what he says about the kit being checked / setup already, if you do decide to buy it (or any used kit) be sure to have someone check it for you and go over the setup.

Heli's are great fun, but there is a learning curve. If the ship is not setup properly, that learning curve becomes 10 times more steep.

Looks like you will still need a handful of stuff not mentioned to go flying, just so you are prepared. 12v starter, 12v battery ( there are a few options here beside the standard 12v hobby battery, flight box and power panel, but that's still a favorite) and a glow plug ignitor do not seem to be included. You'll also need a fuel pump of some variety plus fuel bottle fittings.

The included charger is a good one, but as he mentions you are going to need the appropriate JR charge leads to use it. This will also require some sort of 12v power source.

Looking at the ad and, having some of the same equipment, I would say that this appears to be a fair deal on the surface. If possible, I would want to see the machine to ascertain the "one start and run-up" condition and someone else's set-up means absolutely nothing to me because I would go through the entire machine and set it up to my liking anyway, so that statement is empty.

As Saboo said, "can you find a better deal elsewhere?"...probably is correct, however you might have to look and be patient for a bit and that might not be in your plans if you plan on this for Christmas. You might want to take some time now and go through the classifieds here at RR for a price comparison and verification.

Right now, time is on your side so see if you can get some more info or ask if he would mind if you contacted this West individual and asked him about it. The Romans said it best...."caveat emptor"....let the buyer beware.
