So some would say you do as well. All biggots should be killed and hung on a pike. Some would say. But is that right. NO! There is NO justification for what happened, even if you are stupid enought to believe there is!

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Jared J

wow, man welcome to label-land. You know, I have been into metal/heavy-rock most of my life. And guess what? I have never done drugs, drank, smoked, or had pre-marital sex. And I have no tattoos. WOW, can you believe that possibly I might just like the music as music???

This guy had none of this coming. PERIOD. If he had died of an OD, perhaps you would have a point, but he didnt, and you dont.

The moral decay of this society is not the fault of the media (only a portion) the main reason is poor parenting and lack of responsibility.

I feel bad for those that had to go through that mess, just there for a good time and some music. The psycho that did it deserved what he got. Glad they took him out before he did any more damage. About the only other person you could blame would have to be the club itsself for not doing proper searches.

Such a sad thing to happen.

ok jared here is the actual truth as to why this went down......... dimebag was the recipient of an unknown item in his luggage returning from france, he wasn't sure what it was but looked like a brick of crack so he thought what the heck i can turn this and make enough to buy another nice guitar. so he sells a chunk of it and instead of it being crack the substance blows up in the buyers face, so now the buyer is angry not only for the fact that it wasn't crack but he also thought dimebag was trying to off him so in retaliation the guy jumps on stage and offs him!!

by the way....... get a life!!

Also Jared J, it does not matter if the man stole this guys money, drugs, wife, etc. He still did not have it coming. That is the way thugs think, not intelligent people. "you disrespected me, now you must die". I would have hoped that society had come far enough along to not resort to murder to resolve our issues. guess not

I don't know which is sadder. Darrel's death or this debate. This is shameful. It's a sad day in music.
I also heard yesterday was the anniversary of John Lennons death. Can anyone confirm it?

Slyons, do think someone should be hit by a helicopter for hanging out at the field or get in a headon collision with a drunk driver just because he was driving to the store?

Hirobo STL is right...Very sad commentary on here. We wont forget your name on here Slyons...you might as well exit this forum forever at this point....a prime example of an extremely ignorant, narrow minded human.....to use the word 'human' lightly. You sound like a great candidate to become the next 'stalker' with your mental instability and your need for attention. Do us all a favor and go play on a busy street with your F3.

Sorry to all the families, fans and friends of Darrel.

Shot

In the past, when I had a life prior to marrige, I had worked with Rex Rocker, Phil, and Dimebag. I was a Luthier at the time and was sent out to tweak basses and upgrade hardware on the Spector basses. I had met many a rock star in this line of work, but never any as down to earth as theses fellas, and of-course DD Vernie, Bobby Gustafson from Overkill. All could pass for your next door nieghbor.

I feel a bit scared now to out and see a show. It's bad enough I have to battle for my life at the Chance in Poughkeepsie NY since it is in the armpit of Dutchess County. The other thing is that the clubs are getting careless with the crowds and the safety. Remmember the tradgedy with Great White not too long ago.....

People like you will never have success till you open your mind, and try to view it thur other people's opinions.
remove anything that offends a moral code...
So you're saying keep an open mind and consider both sides but censor anything you find offensive? You can't have it both ways.

Other than that, I pretty much agree with your list. No explain how heavy metal is contrary to ANY one of those points. Explain how I, as a free thinking adult, am contributing to the moral decline of the country by the music I choose to listen to. Do you think that if I watch a horror movie that I'm more likely to go slit someone's throat? Or better yet, do you think that if someone slit my throat at a movie theater playing a horror movie that had it coming to me and I should have known better than to go to a place of such moral deviancy?

Reasonable people can distinguish between reality and entertainment.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
Pantera also scored an episode of the Nickelodeon children's cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants," apparently a band favorite.
Yeah, that really sounds like a monster contributing to the moral decline of society.

Don't use music, movies, and video games as scapegoats for deeper rooted problems. Just my $.02

Crap!! I'm here again!!

Sounds like music is a pretty heated topic here tonight. I was never much of a Pantera fan, but I do enjoy the "mainstream" metal, i.e. Metallica, Rob Zombie,(sp?), Nine Inch Nails, (metal?) and a few others I can't remember the name to. If this guy pissed someone off and got whacked, I guess that's an occupational hazard for the game he was playing. Regardless, it's sad to see a musician die no matter the genre they contribute to. I was also sad to see George Jones die. I enjoy all types of music. Classical, rock, hip hop, whatever. I feel like music can speak to your soul, and help define particular moments in your life. I know I personally can hear a song on the radio, and it will take me back to an earlier time and I will relive the emotions that went along with the memory. You can debate which styles of music are and are not acceptable for all eternity, but the fact remains another human life was extinguished as a result of needless violence. No one deserves to be murdered, well, almost no one. My condolences to all the Pantera fans.
