Oooo this is fun

First (nervous) flight of the model.

Having learn't quite a bit from this build, painting etc, I am now waiting for 25th Dec. It appears FC is going to bring me a Vario AirWolf (CF) fuse. Into this will either go me Raptor 60 or I may hunt out some SH sky fox mechs for it

Nice work

Greetings,

I like the paint scheme.

I too have a Raptor 60 and I was thinking about putting it into an Airwolf. If you do be aware that you may need to do some trimming to the pitch arm. The R60 will fit in the century Airwolf and there are some good pictures out there of this being done.

I just got my first Vario Benzin and that will go into a Bell 47. The Benzin is not that much bigger than my R60. If you are getting a Vario fuse I would suggest using a Vario heli for it. Go for the Skyfox or get a Benzin. If you do, you know they will fit and the wood work for them will be there; you will not need to build your own.

Just my 2 cents worth.

What ever you decide to do have fun and please post pictures.

That sure looks nice. Was this your first scale helo? Were you able to enjoy the first flight or were the butterflies in your stomach too strong?
At some point in the coming year, I'll be able to answer thatlast question for myself.

Christopher, thanks for the comments. Yes I'm hoping to get hold of some skyfox mechs, the R60 is plan 'B'. Question, how come with that login name you don't have a scale picture in your gallery BTW, I'm also PADI advanced+ but these days I prefer lugging heli's to air bottles

Irogers, you know how it goes, practice practice on the sim (XTR) then as soon as you start the dam thing up it all goes out the window

However, for my first scale project I would say I have learn't a lot and in the end really enjoyed flying it, I just hope the weather holds and I can get to the field on Sunday

Airwolf is still one of my favorate TV shows. In fact it was a quest to find a larger scale model (I have two of the plastic scale models) of Airwolf that lead me to the RC heli world. I found out that one of the people I work with flew helis so I hooked up with him. Once I saw his ship I was hot to build a flying Airwolf. I got my R60 and got to learning. However, I have been torn about building a flying Airwolf model and building a Hanger Queen with ALL of the interior modeled and lighted. I have plans for the interior and I have download great pictures as well.

The Bell 47 D is my next fav so, I decided to build this one first and think about how I want to do Airwolf. For now, I am in the process of building a full scale Airwolf flight helmet. I will have this set up with working lights and visor. My wife thinks I strange for doing this one.

Glad there is another Diver on the list. I really enjoy diving. I would really enjoy having a simple water proof Tx for an R/C sub. I do most of my diving in the old quarries. I have an Atlantic trip planned for this summer. I hope it does not get blown out again.

Take care.
