Hi all:

I am wondering, do any of you here play videogames? I know there are some that do not due to generational differences, but I know of people of all sexes and age groups who play videogames. Now, of course, this does not include sims now.

So, for those of you that do what type of game genre do you prefer? And, what platform do you use? I like RPGs, RTSs and FPSs, all in order from greatest to least in preference. I prefer pc games as they have more power, but I occasionally like consoles. I have a PS2 and XBOX. And, by the way, the game "Nightfire 007" has r/c helis and takes in it so you can take out targets from a remote location. Awesome!!!!

My favourite pc game is hands down the Elder Scrolls series, most notably: TES III Morrowind. I love that game, and I love mods!!

So, do any of you out there have any interest in games?

Matthew

Ahh yes, The Legend of Zelda. I love htat game. It is an adventure title. Kind of similar to role playing games (RPGs), but a little lessinvolved. What a great game. I had it for both the NES, and Nintendo 64!

I like sim games like Sim City, The Sims , Etc , etc. Mostly cpu games had an X-BOX but sold it as I did not use it. Also have a gameboy for when on long trips or on the bus, even when quiet at work sometimes. I have stuff like the Urbz , Sims , and Metal of Honor for it.

Naomi, used to play LSL on the Amiga
The new version is alot nicer to look at,definately made for men though lol
Used to play FF when son was younger,he had more naps then lol
He has now picked up the torch and asks me constantly how to do parts of the game.
Having kids limits your free time so my game playing days are short and very few and far between too, then there is work on top of that

Roll on the holidays lol

LSL, now there are some memories. A very good friend of mine just got World of Warcraft. Now someone is raking in the bucks on this game. You don't just fork out the $40 for the game,(if you can find it), but the $30 for the manual and another $15 a month to play the game. They made 200,000 copies and they were sold out on pre orders alone. People all over the world are playing this game on line and loving it. Now I am by no means a gamer, I am lucky if I play solitare, but watching my buddy play this game I must say it was pretty interesting. And a far cry from LSL.

A currently play UT2004, although I don't play it online because of the very high cost of high bandwith comms down here. We have one telcomms operator here that has a monopoly on the market and charge what they want for an ADSL connection (montly fee comes to around the same as what I pay for my yearly membership fee to the model club), and it is capped to 4GB per month.

Planning to do some LANs next year with the locals. Would also love to have more time to do maps and mods for UT2004.

Another favourite was the Oddworld series on PS. A pity the later one was only for XBox.

I currently play Doom3, HL2, UT2004, Battlefied 1942 w/DC mod, America's Army and an oldie RC car game called Revolt.. Plus a little Jak and Daxter with the kids but I don't like console games much.

I used to host LAN parties here at the house and am capable of hosting 40 systems here. Seems interest in LAN games has fallen so I don't get a chance to much anymore

Revolt, now that was a fun game.

PC: Counter Strike (old now, but still a hoot), UT 2003, UT 2004, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Grand Theft Auto 3, and if I get lucky Half-Life 2 for xmas. Played Doom3 demo, but I'm not gonna pay $50+ to run it at 640x480 in super low-end mode.

N64: Pilot Wings 64 (for those that play, I have almost all 100's now), and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Keep playing that one over and over.
