Jarod rrVeteran USA | I sent in a 4200 Himax motor that had the top of the motor detach from the extra long screws they include. At first I didnt realize that the screws would damage the motor. It was about 1 week old. I sent it back to Himax. Well 7+ weeks later I get an email saying that the motor worked fine when they recieved it and that there returning it and also told me that it would not be covered under warranty in the future. If the motor worked I would have been using it! What an insult to my intelligence. What kinda service is this? I admit that I am responsible for not noticing that the screws needed to be cutdown. I have been waiting and waiting and i find out that they are telling me that there not going to fix it or offer a fee to fix it. There just sending me back my broken motor. It was a piece of junk and now its a bigger piece of junk. Im so surprised after dealing with Astro Flight and Thunder Power for warranty and service repairs. Both places are very fair and I am happy with there help. Himax on the other hand I have found to be useless to send them anything. I will never purchase any Himax motors again. You are on your own.

Jarod rrVeteran USA | This is part of the response they emailed me when I complained about them sending the motor back the way they recieved it."Hello Jarod, The motor is reassembled and runs. The damage to the coils in not repairable nor is it covered under warranty. The motor should continue to operate as it is." WOW there confidence is overwhelming. It sounds like they didnt even test it! You dont tell a customer that the product they own SHOULD work after being serviced. You tell them it will work and be backed by them if it doesnt. This is not customer service that makes loyal customers. They just want your money and then they laugh all the way to the bank with it. Ill never buy any Himax products again.

Jarod rrVeteran USA | I would have gladly paid $30. That must not be available anymore. I complained about them not replacing it and was told that there just sending it back to me and that its not under warranty anymore. I was totally honest with them. I admited that I may have broken it on accident. I thought they may ask for a repair fee, but thats not how they handled it.

Jarod rrVeteran USA | When it arrives if its not working properly I will send it back and include $30 money order for a new one. I just dont want to wait another 7+ weeks. If I have to send it back again were talking 14 weeks to get the motor serviced properly. Are they sending these things to china to get them inspected?

vinrx7 rrVeteran Americas finest city | i cant believe it. For the cost to make those motors, they should just toss it in the recycling bin and just send a new one. What is their cost on it? maybe 5-10 bucks. Not worth the time to open and tinker with it. Customer service is key.STUPID TREE!!!

Plummit rrNovice So Cal | Exactly. I doubt they actually "repair" the motors. Most likely they just send a new one out under warranty. For non-warranty issues, they prolly just figure you need to pay the whole cost of the motor. Perhaps they didn't explain it very well, but I'm betting they CAN"T repair the motor for less than the cost of new.At some point you may have to just acknowledge that fact and buy another motor. It will sure cost you less in energy wasted trying to save $20 bucks (or whatever). regards -Marc

CrashExpert rrApprentice Scotland | Sorry but i disagree I see no problem with their service. You ruined a perfectly good motor by using screws that were too long. Himax were good enought to look at it and even advise you that it should be fine to run. Maybe they were politely saying the motor should run ............as long as you dont put too long a screw in it again. Plus there is the possibility they would have given you the option to replace it but figured they were saving you money by reassuring you that it should run fine. I am not meaning to be harsh but ffs is there any other company out there that would sort a product under warranty because of user error. No I dont think so.

Jarod rrVeteran USA | Yea Himax was great about it. So great Ill make sure to never buy anything of theres again. Other people have broken there motors sent them in and were offered replacements for a fee. Besides Im not waiting another 7 weeks. There service sucks as far as Im concerned. There sending me back the same piece of junk I sent them. The motor was broken. I admitted to it. I wasnt asking for a handout. I knew they fixed motors for a fee. I didnt get that offer. Im getting a damaged motor returned to me. Period!!! As far as those of you who think that this is good customer service then you keep supporting them. I have had to many good experiences from other companies to allow myself to be given this level of service from them. Have they ever heard of comptetition? You treat your customers like there not importnant or needed you and they wont come back.

CrashExpert rrApprentice Scotland | They emailed you and said "The motor should continue to operate as it is."Therefore I see this as it'll be fine and they haven't charged you as its unneccasary. But I'm sure that they'll not be too bother that someone what moans their face off about a problem they created themselves won't buy their products again. As fas as I'm concerned the service seems fine, If I ever have any problems I guess I'll experence it for myself.
