Hi there, just wondering if some could please help me. I just got a T-Rex, I live in New Zealand, there is a model shop that sells li-poly batteries, but I have no idea which ones to go for. WattsUp Hobbies

Can someone please have a look and advise.

I have the Align 400 Brushless motor and a 35AMP speed controller.

Thanks

I am using a 3 cell 1500mAh Kokam pack.

Lots of people are using the 2100 or 2200 packs, which actually come standard in the combo kit, but I found them to be too heavy.

I have the 2800kv BL Align motor with the 25A ESC.

I manage to get 8 minutes of 3D flight with the 1500s.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

Those 1600 mAh Evo packs are only like 7C. Not even going to get your bird in the air from my expierence. I use the TP 2100 3cells. I just flew my T-Rex for the first time today. As of now Im getting about 12 min of fly time. I could squeeze another minute out. When you squeeze every drop out of the lipos they seem to get much hotter then just changing it out when you can tell its getting weak.

Your welcome becasue I just saved you $50 or whatver they cost incase you were going to get one. I sold mine on ebay after finding out the discharge rate was crap. I took a $25 loss on it but someone got a good deal. I barely used it becasue it barely flew my bird. It would hardly get 12 inches of the ground before the ESC is lighting up. Big mistake that battery was. Stay with high discharge packs. Thats what makes a good powerfull battery.
