I'm going to buy a gasser and I'm very intrigued by the light weight YW engines. Is there anybody running a YW in their helicopter?

there are a couple guys on RCU that are less than unhappy with their YW motors, in 1 case the guy had to send his over-seas for a very small problem, then after he got it back he got another problem, then he posted a photo, the cylinder was broke away around the exhaust port because he tried to remove a muffler bolt, and the muffler was all cracked, I recommend not to buy YW,,, look that the RCS 30cc.

Hi son,
I posted the web site address for YW engines under the thread "other brands of engines" on here so people could look at them. The topic got "snafooded". Don't know if any bothered to look at the site. Surely there would have been some interest and resultant discussion had anyone looked at the site.

Here's the web site again:

http://www.ywengine.com/frame1.htm

We'll see if anyone looks at the site this time, son.

Love,
Dad

Jim, help me out, 'cause you know how stupid I am. If he is less than unhappy, is he happy then....or...unhappy? Kenny, I'm giving the twin some serious looks. With the carb placed the way it is. it will go right out the back through the frames, with the pipes poking out the back also. The dimension from prop washer to back of the case is very close to Zenoah. The ignition is a plus, something I've wanted to play with on a gasser. http://www.ywengines.com will get you the whole cataloge of products.

That's better!
Thanks Dad, I was going to ywengines.com plural instead of
ywengine.com singular and I ended up getting a very un-informative website in the USA instead of the actual YW site. Looks like a good engine but I'd like to see a track record in helicopters before I go that route. More later.

Love, Yo Son

Hey Nolan!
Hey man, I'm looking to mount a gasser on the front of my Henseleit 3D NT. Ha-Ha! Just kidding. I want to get a Spectra-G in the spring so I have all winter to look at the best engine options. Looks like there are new options popping up all the time but none of them have any credibility behind them so I guess it's a crap shoot unless I go with the G-231 or G-26. Are you into gassers yet? Drop me a line.

Yup, if you want a track record, you'll have to settle for the same old same old.

Thanks for the link Jim. Notice how the guy with all the problems with the YW motor, has very little experience with motors in general. Notice also, that one of the guys that respond to him, has some good basic motor skills, and has had good results. YW North America responds to the problem guy, but he knows more about motors, not really interested in solving the problem, only in trashing the product. Well, he convinced me . I want one.
