I think this will be hard to answer.

People who own a benzin will say that is best.
People who own the X-Cell will say that is best.
People who own other brands will pop in and say that the brand they have is the best.

I have an X-Cell and am very happy with it.

Miniature Aircraft now has a new gas heli design, I'd go with the new model rather than the 1005 gasser if I was starting right now.

I'm not sure how 'new' the benzin design is, so I don't know if there is a newer model to look into.

Of all the brands out there, I don't think you can find a 'bad' heli anymore.

I initially chose the Xcell because a local shop had parts. If you have a local shop which has parts for the brand you are choosing, that helps make the choice a lot easier IMHO. But if you only do mail-order for parts, then it may not be as important to you.

Look for features which are important to you. Try calling each company and ask for technical help. Tell them you are doing to do aerial photography and if they have any experience with it, or if they can give you any setup pointers. This will let you know how responsive they are and let you know the kind of service you can expect if you run into any problems. Some companies are much more responsive than others.

Alot of guys are flying the predator gasser and very happy with them. Lot of bang for the bucks.... Rumor is that Century is coming out with an "industrial" version for aerial photo.....
