this is usually due to the engine mixture being
wrong.

although it may seem to be correct w/o the
revlock, once you put the revlock into the
picture, engines almost always need a bit
of adjustment.

my hunch is that it's too rich but just to
make sure, open the main needle a few
clicks. the problem should get worse.
if it does, take out the clicks you just put in
and then take out some more.

always better to test rich than lean.

Hi matt,

Ahh you don't want one of those, you need one of those Rev Max's ! (sorry couldn't resist before anyone has a go!)..

Just out of interest (and i know you told me but ive forgot), what servo did you end up using ?. It sounds like a different problem to the one with my revlock but like z said, play with the mixture first.

I had that problem as yours.

I think the responsibility is too high ?

You can decrease the responsibility by the ADJUST control.

Hi guys.

I have three revlocks and all have been great.
I went flying yesterday all day and I noticed one of my three machines had a audible hunting.

Subtle and did not effect the machine as such but I could hear it, so it has to be sorted.

I leaned the mixture 1/4 turn and it went away.

So I changed the glow plug and put it back as the plug was some weeks old. I then put the mixture back to find no problems.

I think to get the rapid responce to the fan lag, that the revlock has, you do have to get the engine running sweet.
The slower units like GV-1 and even TJpro I found were far less picky on this, but lacked the backing responce as the new revlock.

So it is a trade off.
BUT, there is the gain pot and it is there for this very reason.
Turn it down and you should find it goes away. But remember your engine is changing it's revs for some reason and reducing the sencitivity of the revlock might smooth it out, but for hard 3d etc, you will find it lacks the responce..

Lean the mid mixture, change the plug and see how it goes.. Then turn the pot down if it continues.
All should be fine.

OR as Tris says, sack it and get the Revmax. That only clips the top end and has nothing to do with the mid range while hovering etc unless you try to make it into a govenor and crank the throttle curves up behind it.

hope you sort it.. if not contact csm..

I'm sure you can sort it by either adjusting the RevLock or by changing the mixture but if you decide to sack it I'm willing to trade it for a TJ-Pro almost new and in complete unused package (wires magnet etc). But it would be your loss as I think the RevLock beats the TJ-Pro.

I'm willing to trade it for a TJ-Pro
fair play mate.. But I think he would be, (as you know ) mad to change from a revlock to the older TJPRO.

But you do have a point. Seeing as the tjpro uses the old type of sensor and slower programming techniques, it might mask the problem of the engine.

It is a shame that the revlock has to be so sensative, but if we all want 0 lag and lots of grunty power, we do have to meet it half way and get those engines blob on.

Keep tweaking with it. Maybe change the plug type too.. Maybe a hot plug like a F7. There are also classic quality plugs to try like the enya 3 or OS8.. Worth a tryof a few types to see how smooth you really can get it...

All the best with it.

then try one of these, weve found that it helps greatly with tuneing the os50

And if you do get the carb youll need an extended throttle arm too.
Ask Adam what a difference it makes,
