What about the Futaba GY240? Does anyone have any experience with this gyro in the Zoom?

i also just recently got a 401 for my shogun, i figured that as much as i like my 401 on the big ships itlll work great with the micros. i figured that with a fairly light brushless (i have the himax) teh extra weight shouldn't be that bigg of a deal. however i could be wrong i'll have to let you know. the only real difference ive heard withth 240 is that you cant access settings from your radio. i am sure that there are others. my dad did the smart thing though i think. he got the 401w/ servo so now he got a cheap servo for a big heli. also, what are you guys using as a servo? i am using the hs-50.

The 240 doesn't support digital servos.

I currently have a CSM-200 skypup and it isn't a bad gyro at all, just not a great gyro. If you make sure you keep the vibrations down, then it will work just fine. One of the guys I fly with does mild 3D with his CSM-200, so it is possible to use it for all flight.

Thanks for the info. What tail servo are you using and did you modify the servo to get rid of slop (backlash)?

Hi Skypup.
I use the 50 blue servo with the CSM and it works great. I want to get rid of the slop in the tail yoke/slider area. I put in a Carbon Fiber tail pushrod and it is better but the tail slider is still loose.
Anyone have ways to eliminate this? My Shogun tail has more slop than my Raptor!

I have the HS-56 on tail runnin' on 6v which is as fast as the HS-50, but with way more torque. The biggest improvement came from the tail pitch slider SE from Microheli. I have every part those guys have made for the Shogun on my heli and they do an awsome job with machining alum.

Helihover,

The 240 is basiclly the same as the 401, but like CRAZYKEV said, it doesn't do digital. It also does not have remote gain control and thus you can't change gain or flight modes from your Tx.

Once you have it set up right (lots of landing and adjusting) it does as well as the 401.

We are having real good luck out of the Expert SL110 on our tails. It is faster that the 50 or 56 at 5 or 6 volts, and had NO SLOP out of the box. here is a link:
