I had found a webtsite that had a flyback diode that hooked in parallel with the battery so that when the controller pulsed / chopped the voltage of the motor the capacitor and diode would discharge during the off phase making a smoother running motor and longer running. I dont know if any of you know what I am talking about. It was about 30 bucks and was a small website / company.???

Thanks
Cody

Are you talking about lithimon ?

Just think of it as a battery monitor that might help your brushed heli fly a little better.

It's only a capacitor that does the work- no diode if you read the article carefully. If you dont want a battery monitor, just go to an electronic supplier (maybe even Radio Shack!) and buy the electrolytic capacitor on its own, it will cost you much less and do you much more good if actually soldered directly to the ESC without other thin wiring adding impedance.

If you're running brushless, forget it. You've already got the capacitor in the ESC.
