I need to get a new swashplate for my Hummingbird V3. Should I just get the OEM replacement or do the aluminum ones that heli-hobby sell
perform much better. OEM 9 bucks vs. 45 bucks for the upgraded one. Are they worth the money.

Thanks, jjp

Get a new stock one from Century for $9.

The metal ones are way over priced and offer no improvement in performance. Metal is more durable – if they would sell the metal one for $20-25 then it might me worth it.

I second Bentspindle!

At the price of the aluminum swash plate versus the stock.... I am not convinced the difference is evident in the performance.

I mean think about it... that swash plate is like $80; for $80 it should make my HB fly near perfect and a pilot should be able to say, "Wow! What a difference!" But it doesn't make you say this.

Bottom line.... it is not worth the expense.

If you want to spend big bucks.... get an HH gyro! Now this is good money spent.
