I just realised that lipo options for Logo 10 are severely limited by frame spacing . I already ordered a power system for a 6s setup planning for a DIY iRate 6s3px1800mah pack but the cells are 55mm wide and will not fit the frame. I know TP SDP and new narrow PQ/Tanics should fit but they are substantially more expensive. Are there any other economy options for 1-4 pack 6sx5000mah ?

Use cell phone batteries!!

And you can make them any shape you want

I have been flying on cell phone batteries all summer, and I think the power is very good.

Here I show in a danish forum how to build a cell phone logo 10 pack

http://www.rc-unionen.dk/nytforum/t...p?TOPIC_ID=5915

Here I fly with 50 cell phone cells 5s10P (sorry no 3d :-)

Wow. 50 cells in 10P.

I would think no 3D for sure.

Those cells are very low discharge cells. Not intended for our type of flying at all. Thats why the 10P I would guess.

How much does that setup weigh and how hot do the cells run?

Yes the 10P are because of the low discharge, so I can not make the pack lighter than that.

The weight of the 5s10P battery is 825grams. There is 6200mA/h in the battery.

When I fly the battery don´t get hot at all. Maybe beacuse I dont't fly hard 3D, but there is plenty of power for full pitch, loops and everything i need for now.

The Packs I fly on have now around 200 cycles without any problems

Found a source for bargain Logo 10 packs/cells. The guy at http://www.maxamps.com recently got some narrow 12-15C 1650mah and 2250mah cells similar to the recent PQ/Tanic narrow cells. If the claims are true the mah/$ for these 12C cells is very attractive. Just ordered a set of 2250 loose cells from him for a 6s2p (4500mah) configuration. Will update when I build the packs and test it.
