401 with 8700

No, unless something has changed. During the gyro boot process, the 8700 will run hard over possibly damaging your linkage or burning itself out. However, the 401 works great with the older 2700 servo if you have one of those around.

401?

I ran a 8417 JR servo with the 401 and on the 4th flight, I did another interesting auto . No tail control. I think Futaba gyros are allergic to certain JR servos.:
