I'm going to be building a Fury Tempest FAI heli over the winter months and am wondering what servos and gyro's one would recommend.
I currently use the following in my CS Vigor.
(3) HiTec 5945MG Servos for the CCPM Mix.
(1) JR8700G for the Tail with a CSM 540 Gyro
(1) HiTec HS-525BB for the throttle

As you can see my equipment is a couple seasons old. What servos and gyro would you recommend for the Tempest FAI?

How about going with what almost everyone else uses? Futaba S9252's on CCPM, Futaba 601/9251 on tail and a 9253/9254 on throttle. With this combination you can't go wrong.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I fly a Airtronics Stylus PCM. (2) Heli's with JR connections (1) the Old Airtrinics connection. I never thought about Futaba I was thinking HiTec and JR.

Will I be disapointed in the Tempest? I'm currently flying a Kalt Mercury CCPM, CS Vigor w/GV1 Gov. and an ECO 8 which has cost me as much as a 60 size heli....

JR 8311 or 8611's are the JR answer to the 9252 -- i'm using the 8311's ATM and they are great in everything from a 50 size to tempests.

For gyro: another vote for 601/9251 -- if HiTec uses the same connector as JR you will need to slice off the tab on any futaba equipment you use -- other then that its plug and go.

It's nice to be different!

If you go Hitec, get the newer carbonite geared servos. I just got 6 of the HS-5975HB Coreless Digital from Servocity.com last month.
HS-5975HB
They work GREAT! Fast and strong enough when used in CCPM system.

If you want even more then look at the HS-6975HB

I tend to stay with Futaba gyros and I currently own the 240, 401 and 601 combo's. Hard to beat.
