Hi guys,

How do you prgramme a lower rev range into the pheonix 10 controller. I'm using the castle creations package in my Elite collective on the Stock 8 cell ni-mh pack. I would like to get a lower rpm as to me the chopper is really screaming and the duration is short.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks.

I would recommend adjusting the throttle pitch curve on the radio, as I don't thik the ESC settings will give you what you are looking for. Are you running in govenor mode?

The PHX 10 manual is here.

I think you are correct. The regulator is a set speed with no adjustment. I'll try using it through the throttle curves next. Thanks for the help.

Govenor mode on the Phoenix sets the head RPM according to the throttle percentage (and then tries to keep it at that RPM despite changes in load) For example my Shogun has the throttle curve set at about 52% to get the head RPM I want. Depending on your motor/battery combination, maximum headspeed can happen well below 100% throttle from the transmitter. If you set the throttle percentage above that point, you're just running the motor flat-out and not getting any regulation from the govenor.

If you need a big change in RPM it's more efficient to swap to a smaller pinion than to just modify the throttle curve. You'll get better run times and cooler battery/motor/ESC.
