Hi,

I have a TJP on a Sceadu 50 using a Graupner MC24 Tx.

My problem is that all appears to be OK with the installation and radio configuration, TJP is not governing the motor??. i.e. light comes on @ 25% to full throttle and disengages when I move the stick below 25%..... When I turn the fan the LED blinks when the sensor passes over the Magnet.
ATV on the AUX is set to 100% (I've tried increasing this to 150% and - 150%, no change)

I've been at this for two months had a number of guys at the field try to help (also using TJP's successfully) I'm pulling my hair out any ideas???

Please help!!

Im not familiar with that radio,
but, which aux channel is the TJ plugged into?
what switch is assigned to control that aux channel?
Is that switch in fact controlling that channel? do you have a monitor screen to see different values as your aux channel is switched?
Try plugging a servo into the aux channel to see if your switch is actually working / assigned.

If thats all ok, you could have a faulty one? .Try borrowing a known good unit of a friend, only a 2 minute job to change one plus a sticky pad.

Try calibrating the TJ Pro at 85-90% on the Aux channel, and then set it to 28ish % and see if it will govern then...

Some units have a problem calibrating with some TX's and then they wont engage...

Don't Email me as I wont reply - PM Only (spam countermeasures)

I had the exact same problem when I first tried my TJ-Pro. I had my engine set rich at that time because it was still rather new. The TJ-Pro doesn't seem to do anything if it doesn't like the way the engine responds to throttle changes. When I leaned the mixture it became active and started to pulse, something it does when the mixture is not perfect enough.

I never got it right on that machine, not even with a different TJ-Pro with a lower gain programmed in it that was sent to me by MA.

I tried the same TJ on a different engine and it did work a lot better, still not perfect but better.

ATV on the AUX is set to 100% (I've tried increasing this to 150% and - 150%, no change)
Try turning the ATV's down to 50% on your aux channel you have the TJP plugged into and then start bumping the ATV's up a little at a time from there.....

On my R50 with OS 50, the magic number was between 55-60..... above that and it would not work .....

Also, your headspeed MUST be at least as high (or higher) than the "target" headspeed you are trying to control with your TJ......

In other words, if you want a head speed of 1750 to be controlled by the TJ, set up your throttle curve (with TJ off) so that you have a headspeed of AT LEAST 1750 or a little higher.......

After you have the head speed set up manually as described above, then turn on your TJ and play with the numbers to get your actual desired headspeed......But keep in mind as I said above, start with an ATV of around 50% and work your way up until you notice a difference in RPM once the TJ is engaged..... and then fine tune the numbers from there....

Most importantly, disregard the instructions on MA's website when it comes to their "calculator" settings.... They don't work !! That's why you have to do the above....

Let me know how this works out for you....
