I am setting up a Vario Gasser Huey and want to set the rotor speed at 1050rpm. I have set up the GV1 as I have on my other helis with the RS1 being OFF. I am using switch E for my 3 positions, Normal, Idle1 and Idle3, although on this heli I won't be using #3.
When I initially set it up I kept the percentage values in the 9C governor page the way they were, 0, 50, & 100. (On my other helis this works fine and I am using headspeeds of between 1500-1750.) When I moved the switch to the idle1 position the governor kicked on, but the headspeed was around 1250. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't at 1050 which is what I plugged into the GV1.
I just tried to adjust the percentage on the 9C from 50% in the center position to 12% and that showed 1050 on the GV1. When I check the switch, the Normal position shows OFF as it should because I have the rpms set to less than 1000. When I switch to idle1 it says RS1 1050. It used to say RS2 1050. The third position says RS3.
Is this correct? Does each RS position on the GV1 only work through a certain RPM range? Any thoughts. I haven't flown it yet with the new adjustments, I am waiting for the weekend. Have I made any sense at all>
