skwarwheels rrNovice Santa Clara, Ca | I just purchased a used Raptor with a TT50 engine and the TT HiPo muffler. While taking things apart to see how they work (hehe!) I noticed that the exhaust port on the muffler is a good 20% smaller than the exhaust port on the engine. Has anyone out there tried hogging this out... I mean port matching this exhaust to the engine? Can I expect 20% more power by doing so? Can I expect ANY more power by doing so. I noticed that some people are happy with the power from the stock motor, and others wouldn't have it any other way than to have a MP2 or a Hatori. I was just wondering if I end up with something kinda in the middle for free.![]()

skwarwheels rrNovice Santa Clara, Ca | I just took a better look. There is a good 2 to 3 mm on each end of the opening. The problem is that the throat tapers on the outside too much to open it up on the inside properly. The best I can do is create a taper so that it doesn't have to hit it square on, like Gadgets said...Very sad...
Looks like there's a MP2 in my future.

![]() rrMaster Cookeville, TN | IMHO, you are wasting your time.Unless you have a dyno and can measure the before and after you don't really know for sure if there is a gain. I've tried it and it isn't worth the effort. If there was an improvement companies like Hatori, KSJ and Funtech would port match their mufflers. Most of the contest pilots that I know don't bother. They need all the power they can get but don't look for it at the exhaust port. TM
