I was hovering my Venture .30 today when suddenly the muffler poped off. The engine kept running, so I was able to safetly land. Upon close inspection, I found that the muffler actually broke off from the section that is fastened to the engine with screws. The screws were tight. The metal actually bent and broke. The engine is fine.

As a replacement muffler, what would you suggest?

Would Macs Heli Muffler O.S. .32 SX-H(X) work?
I would like a muffler that shoots the exaust straight out the back.

Thanks for your replys!

I second excellone's suggestion! An MP2 30Q will feed loads of power down your good old O.S. 32, for me it became another engine entirely.

Looking at the picture, it looks like your muffler had a faulty casting that broke under vibration stress.

Me, I also vote for the MP2. It certainly pepped up my OS32. However, since it is tuned for about 20,000 RPM, you will need to run with a significantly higher head speed. The OS32 is good up to 22,000 RPM.

What I did

Thanks for all of your advice!

I couldn't find any MPII-30Q's in stock. I did find the loud Muscle Pipes at CJ Youngblood Enterprises Inc, but I want something quieter.

I finally ordered the MVPV0102 Muffler, 32/39 size, from HeliProz. They said is was an improvement over what I had.

One of my challenges was being able to get the muffler by Friday. HeliProz told me that it should be here by Wednesday.

Thanks for your help!
