I have a raptor 60 I can not get my tail rotor to spin as fast when in flight as if in a hover to the right. it is much faster to the left in any condition though. ther is another guy at my club that has 2 X Cell helis and one with an older OS 60 and one with a YS 61 and his is much faster and can climb with way more power than my TT 60. his heli has a way faster tail rotor spin than mine also. heres some info about my heli
I have a TT70 engine 680 mm carbon V blades 401 gyro stock tail blades w/ 9253futaba servo. idle up +10 to -10 N +10 to -3
Please help I dont know were to start. another thing is it will seem to stall after about 3-5 flips & rolls then I have to fly around until my engine speed catches up.

Its not when I am moving foward but going up at allmost full trottle piro. I m not looking for gobs of power but I would like it to perform like other 60s I have seen. they climb twice as fast as my heli.

You didn't mention what blades are on the tail. My tail didn't have much power until I went to 92mm carbons. Then it pulled to the right much better in pirouettes. Granted you can't set separate endpoints for throw on the 401 you can vary the rudder ATV to increase pirouette speed to the right more than the left.

When you are climbing you're fulling loading the motor with main blade collective pitch AND you're adding more load by pirouetting to the right against the torque which is at maximum....

No wonder it's slower than a left pirouette with the torque.

However, if you have the proper engine tuning and proper gearing plus a decent set of large tail blades you should be able to set it up mechanically so you get more right rudder and less left rudder. This can be done electronically as well but start off with mechanical limits first.

You motor may not be as "dialed-in" as the other guys... tweak those needles and check the temps and you should gain power. If you're still bogging after several flips you may need to work on your collective management or go to a bigger motor.

I run 100mm NHP's on my tail and the tail works great.

R70

The TT70 is no great powerhouse and the OS and YS 61's have at least as much power. A lot depends on fuel, head speed, and mufflers used also. If you need more power, the OS 70 is probably 20% stronger than the TT70. For T/R blades, I'd recommend at least 102mm length. This will depend on what type of flying you do, and if you're just flying forward, 102's will be enough. For my 91 powered Raptor I'm using 107's and it will do anything - sideways, backwards, whatever, w/o the tail blowing out. As stated previously, you'll never get a perfectly constant piro rate with the GY401 gyro, although with the new 9254 servo and the proper tail blades, it's very, very good. Hope this helps. steve.

I think I just need to upgrade to the 90 cause I crashed to day after I thought I got it right it was doing better than ever thanks to the advise I got from U guys. but when I went to do a loop it stalled out on me at the top of the loop, and it slowly recovered from the stall until I was 6 feet ubove ground when I was able to level it out and take a hard landing. broke one V blade, tail blade grip, and horizontal tail fin. not major but blades arnt cheap! I am just happy that I didn't panic like I have in other crashes any body got some 700mm carbons for sale? good tail blades to?

head speed..

your initial climbout speed will be very dependant on what headspeed you are running.. I'd make sure you had/are running a high headspeed, since you seem to have a demand for responsiveness and power. Your engine will be behind the curve if you don't already have that energy built in headspeed. Give a bump up in headspeed a try too!
