hey i maidend my raptor helicam today!! i'am hooked, i got a good long 10 min video clip from it! the quality of the flim was awful, for two reasons. one the ae shift wasnt locked and i cant manage to do so! and i dont know what i should lock it at for best results to get the sky and the ground... what do all of you use? and second i forgot to turn off the auto focus but i can fix that. so here are the pictures! they're small so you wont see the full blur!!!!! how do i post pictures without uploading them from my gallery? because i dont have a purchased membership here...

A great start bel-230, showing some good skills on composition.

You've got some issues on vibation and I wonder if this is because you have the G7 mount upside down. Perhaps you could make a side-gantry that lets you hang the mount from its dampers per the design..

well actually, it was 100% vibration free! and i beleive that was due to the fact tht it sat upright ontop of foam rather then hanging like a pendelum (hanging has tension causing vibrations, not that i'am trying to teach a pro! but thats my 2 cents). the reason i beleive you thought it had vibrations was due to the blur! and that blur was caused by leaving the auto focus on!! so that was all my fault for the blur! and i also need to figure out how to get the ae shift locked on my canon zr40. and i need to get a video transmitter and receiver. i was going to get the black widow av 600 mw transmitter/receiver, but i later found out that wont work with stills. so i beleive i would have to get that digi live transmitter, with the digi live can i still use it on video cameras to?

Your compositions look a lot better than my first efforts, if it's just your focus motoring in and out just put it in manual at infinity. Good luck.

thanks! i have done so since the test flight! i just need some parts to get it working! i still need to get an 1800mah c size battery packfor the gimbal(i want a heaver battery for my counter weight) because the test flight was incredibally off balance! and i need the black widow av receiver and transmitter and a i need a good (heavy would be best) fm receiver and then extentions. i do have one more question though, what do you all do to keep your wires from being pulled due to your pan? i just left alot of slack but i'am not sure of thats persay the best method. i would also assume you wouldnt really have that issue with a conventional pendelum mount because you could keep everything on it! but that aside is there any paticular method? and do any of you have any comments etc on things like black widow av? like i was curious if i could use my powerbook g4 as my moniter for the real time veiw(for the camera man). and i'am still wondering if you all lock you f stop or ae lock ir iris lock(which ever term you prefer).

now to get a gasser! i was looking at the vario benzin ccpm? i dont want a cheap century thing (no offense to thoughs of you that fly century)but i would like a high quality gasser! and that vario ccpm seemed to be a fair price! 995 ain't bad. and i know it will be high quality.... i'am really rushing into this to quickly! i'am still practicing my autos. i'am not perfect quite yet, but i learn very quickly! and i personally think no one should fly 3d or helicams until they can auto! and auto a raptor 50 carrying 2 lb payload really isnt very easy! the heli is an extra 1/3 of its orginal so i need a gasser. any other recomendations?
