About 30 seconds into first flight today, the throttle and pitch servos went ape!!!Luckily,It was only 3 feet off the ground and was able to shut the throttle.I have changed the RX and gyro tonight but noticed that the sparkplug cap is a rubber item, should this be a suppressed cap or is the rubber cap ok?As yet, I have no Idea what caused the glitching but hope it was one of the things I've changed.Anyone got any other Ideas?I need to get this sorted as I dont fancy flying it again if the same thing is gonna happen.
I also noticed that when the motor was'nt running, everything was ok.
Help!!

Barry.

Probably best post this in the gasser section. Theres expertise and info on glitching their. First thing I can think of though is the RX aerial routing. Is it fed away from the engine?
Earthing straps to ground the engine will also help.

Hi,
The aerial WAS routed directly next to the engine, but it aint now!
I'll have a look on the gasser section for some more Ideas.
Thanks for the info
Barry.

Barry87,

Specifically for the Eagle GS, I had to change to a deans whip RX antenna as well as ground the receiver to the engine. As for grounding, just run a wire connecting the negative of the RX to the big bolt of the engine mount - frame. Oh yeah, make sure to use the resistor type plug. Good luck

Nap tan,
When you say from the negative on the rx,where exactly do you mean? do you mean any of the negative terminals where you plug in the servos etc?or maybe I'm being a bit thick?
I never realised there would be so much to do to a gasser to get a safe flight!...not that I mind, the weather here is sh*t anyway!
Regards,
Barry.

Barry,

The GS has metal gear on it, right? If it does make sure tighten the sh!t out of the skid clamps. I have had bad experiences with metal gear on my X-Spec.

You got it. Any negative terminal where the servos are plugged in.
