Crashed again 3rd tank after last crash. At first I thought it was interference because heli suddenly went to full throttle and then turned over to the left and fly into the ground.

At home when I took everything apart I saw that the top part of the clutch bell sheered of from the bottom part. Don't know way, maybe it cracked from previous crash and I missed it. That explains the sudden high throttle. Anyway the cost of all this makes me think to just buy a new kit, and use what is left of this one for spares. Or just go for something else.

I luckily caught a strange situation on my 50 V2: I noticed a lot of resistance when I went to move the blade backwards while going to add fuel for my first flight. A friend and I started going through everything and discovered the fan had worked it's way up a little. The nut holding it on was tight but not super tight. Everything had been cleaned and installed with locktite too!! Re-did everything and it flew fine.

That would have been one nasty surprise for me when I would have tried an auto!!!

I wonder if the same thing might have happened to you?

Weird!

Oh well!

Oh , maybe thats also possible, I actually landed to add fuel and when I walked closer I saw that the main tank still have some fuel left and I can fly another minute or 2, and I spin up again and was not even that high, maybe 8 or 9 metres when suddenly all went wrong. I think if I added fuel on the first landing I would have seen something is not right.

Anyhow still thinking if I must rebuild or not

Also, you must remove the washer under the fan that comes preinstalled with the TT50 in the kit. At least this is what they say in the german forums but it seems correct as I got some marks of wear on top of the clutch bell from the time before removing the washer.

Buy a new kit if the repair cost will be more than half of the brand new kit. Saves you time looking for vibration or glitches that becomes a problem of resurrected helis from a crash. Also, check your servos, receiver and battery very closely as they can be damaged internally.
Strip the crashed heli for your spare parts or sell them on ebay or at your club.

Well I did rebuilt it and it is ready for flying now. I had my receiver and radio checked out and apparantly it drifted quit a lot (maybe because of previous crash). Anyway thanks to helikraft's (Singapore) good prices the repair costs was not toooo bad.

I think the cluth bell broke because of the actual crash. The washer was removed, that was a mistake I made right in the beginning, cause the clutch was engaged right from the start.

Except for the Engine and muffler and some minor other parts I have an almost new 50 again.

Thanks for the replies

AgraV8,
Yes, It is never nice to crash but I will feel much better if I crashed and it was my fault, than to just crash and I don't know why!

clutch bell brackage has happened quite a bit with the v2's ,i think they started making them diffrently (stronger) so if you rebuild and get a new one it probably wont happen again.
