I won a lithium ion battery pack at a funfly this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone has used this brand before. The brand is TBM (Troy Built Models). I have been to their website, and it looks promissing. The prices are about half that of Duralites. And they claim they are the same batteries. The one I won is a 2350mah 7.2v battery. They say it is a 6 amp continuous and 12 amp burst. Whatever that means. It is a two cell pack, and is quite small. Looks kind of like two AA size batteries shrinked together. And the weight is 3.5 oz. So what do you guys think? Sounds like it might be good for say a 50. Or perhaps even a 60-90 size heli to reduce a little weight. Give me some input before I attempt to use this thing. I would be running a regulator of course likely 5.6 volt. I also have a Triton to charge it. Any charging recomendations? Lets hear from you battery guys.

Web site is http://www.troybuiltmodels.com

Thanks guys.

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

.
Best info would be from the manufacturer, or their supplier. They sound like Lithium-Ion, although there is a new Li-Po cell that's cylindrical in a metal case. I never charge lithiums any higher than 1C, which in your case would be 2.3A. The Triton should do nicely.

Flying helis since gyros had springs.

They are lithium ion. I guess I was mainly wondering what applecation this pack would work with. The info on the TBM site seems to only cater to planks. So I asked here. I am sure it would be fine in just about any heli. I was just curious if anyone else had any exsperience with these packs. I guess not.
