well,
I have been dabbling with one of those rcv .58cd engines in a scale plank, thing is after reading a load of stuff from otto on the forum, he mentions a few times, that a higher oil content in the fuel could be detrimental, as it creates a better sealing effect and hence raises the effective compression ratio a tad, now this was said in relation to the rcv-cd engine so it may have more to do with sealing the rather unusual valve/porting system than the piston/cylinder seal, but it got me thinking about peoples problems starting rossi .61/.65 engines (I am getting a skyfox with a rossi)
Has anyone any experience relating to easier starting through lowered compression with a lower oil ratio?, I am sceptical personaly of noticing a difference within the constraints of a practical oil ratio range (15%-20% perhaps ?) but I cant say Ive ever been on the lookout for this effect .....anyone?

I really don;t think reducing the oil ratio would have any visible effects ont he high compression engines durug starting

What it will do is reduce the effective compression to the point it doesn't run very well.

I could be wrong!

Never tried it!
