Just finished building my Trex.
Quite a bit of work!
Nice heli!
Kind of heavy, even after modifying 10 g's off the frame.
A little larger then my Shogun.
Next step get a motor.
Any suggestions?

Nice Rex! As for motors, I'm running an E-Flite 400 4200KV on my shougun. Nice motor, lots of power with LiPo's. Have a Phoenix 25
ESC, nice speed control, 6 programable parameters. The motor runs about 50 bucks. Good luck!

Not without taking the paddles off!

But at a guess it's about 190mm long, and it's definitely 2mm diameter.

Ok thanks! just a guesstimation on the length will do, the diameter is the critical one, as i'm wondering if it will fit for a zoom without drilling

Girders!

They're plastic, and pretty substantial stuff too, because despite having holes towards the roots, they're still 25g each, compared to 11g each for the Zoom's similarly sized foamies.

After initial flight testing, I know which I'll be using...

Hey whats the deal with the canopy "windshield" on the Trex. On some pics I see that it is somewhat transparent, and others I see it is solid white. Does the transparent windshield come separate from the actual canopy?

If you want to use the tinted widscreen, you have to cut out the opening in the canopy to install it. Your choice.

Hey Andy,

Nice looking Rex!
But how much of that 770g is battery?
It looks like you're dangling a brick under there.
Nice low CoG mind you...

Ooohh. Wouldn't that be cool? Take Raptor graphics, shrink them down and put them on a T-Rex to make a baby-Raptor.
