red and green - yes

you just get a disgusting grey/brown mix.

it works fine though. the oils used in
are, I believe of different thicknesses but that
doesn't really matter much.

I flew much of last season in FAI running a 50/50 mix of CP 30% and CP 25%. The blend gave me a nice combination of power, transition, and acceptable smoke. People have also been mixing 30% heli and green 15% high vis fuel for years with excellent results.

I would not do it,because of bad experience by mixing diferent fuels, only the big blocks were runing with this stuff not the small.
If I want less oil then I fill it up with nitro and methanol, or use the 12,5% for mixing with the red this works because same oil.

CPLV (RED)= low viscosity
CP (Blue) = high viscosity

Just means you'll get better cooling/lubrication by mixing them. Also wont smell as nice. Not that coolpower smells nice anyway but it will smell worse

I mixed CP15% and Magnum 30% for a few tanks when I switch from CP to Magnum. No problems. Disgusting colour though

Very interesting...

Kind of off topic, but I have been told that 10% is fine in my heli. ..
What do you guys think? I was at the field and all I had was 10% for my planks. I was told 10% will be fine. So I tried it. No big difference in power.. I would think this was a bad idea. But I have since been told by a few other plank/heli pilots that all they run is 10% in everything.

I've used the 50/50 mix of 30/15 in OS 32's as well as the big blocks. 61 sized engines, too. Runs beautifully in all of them. There is no issue mixing the high and low vis oil packages from the heli fuels in the Morgan fuel line. Indeed, when Cliff Hiatt was doing some fuel r&d for Morgan when we were experimenting with smoke versus lubrication factors, mixing the high with low vis oil was exactly what they did.

I HAVE seen oil packages from different mfg's do some really bad things (like form a weird precipitate) when mixed, but that was not the originally posted query.

Luckylandings,
I use 5% or 10% nitro in all my engines including O.S. and Y.S engines.
I have done this in helis since the late eighties and it hasn't caused me any problems yet.
