Hi guys,
i'm looking to make a parallel pack for my zap, i currently run it on a 3s1p etec 1200maH pack rated at 7.5C which doesn't cut it. I'm looking to buy another etec 1200maH pack but now they are rated at 8.5C, will this make any differnece? Too much weight? 9i think they weight about 70grams each.
When i'm setting up a parallel pack, do i just connect the positives of the 2 packs and the negatives and solder them to the plugs together?
When it comes to charging, can i just charge them together? i have a swallow digital charger if that helps, any feedback appreciated.

You are currently running 1200mah pack. Can it fly. My St Model 1200 mah cannot have sufficient power at all. My Zap cannot fly at all.

The Etec 1200's are probably the worst packs to use with the Shogun. They simply can not deliver... you could try using a 2p but that just adds extra weight and lots of it.

The best packs are:

Apogee 3s1p 1570mah
Thunder Power 3s1p 1320mah

I have tried several and the Apoogee 1660 are STUPID STRONG! Their number are rellay good and only weigh 120 grams. I had to remove the shrink wrap (upsets one to do it to brand new pack, but worth it) and wafer board pack stiffener and make them a stacked pack (all 6 cells on top of each other) to fit in the Zoom. I used industrial strength straping tape to re wrap the packs and they only ended up weighing 114 grams each with a dean's Ultra Plug. The Kokam 1550 I had weighed 113 grams! and could not deliver the punch that the Apogee's do. Here is a link to where I purchased them:

In short, I think you would not be doing yourself a favor trying to make a 2S pack, with what you have, I'm not knocking what you have. Just saying I feel you might be better in the long run with somethingelse.

Don't come off the throttle untill you see your GOD!

Don't pay out my etecs, although they are only 7.5C they do very nicely and i can fly around very well, but duration is not great and occasionly, just occaisonly they do weird things in conjunction with the phoenix.
Please just tell me how to make a parallel pack
