DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | I was flying her fine, and I had new fuel in it. It ran a little more powerful than usual which I think was good. Usualy on idle the blades wouldnt spin but this time it was spinning nicely on idle. I also installed these carbon blades I got from a trade with my second raptor.I was doing some fast circuits and doing my first few stall turns trying to perfect it. I then put her into hover because I was getting that rush and I was shaking a little until my engine flamed out. After I heard this weird noise, I completely froze and thought I had no battery power but then at the last minute it wasnt the battery but instead it was something with the engine. I was trying my best for the last few inches but failed. Ended up with a boom strike breaking the tail case, blades, flybar, i beleive spindle, as well as main mast. Luckily it wasnt that big, or atleast I think its not big as of yet. I have a good feeling something inside the engine broke. I will post a video of it in a bit. I had a great time though, and the crash was pretty funny because I was going to do a loop today and crash while I was doing a loop... Well unexpected crash, didnt dumb stick it either, DAMN TT ENGINE! Thought I could trust this engine.![]() ![]()

Skillmaster rrVeteran LA cali | sup Lock, the TT runs great u just have to run the write fuel with it, powermaster works best i used to use coolpower but the engine hated that stuff so cheap fuel for a cheap engine was a great match, i get more poer than my friends OS and his heli is running great, mine is just betterI had a near crash too but thanks to G2 i just atuoed down nicely i was doing 3D and the line brok from the pipe the engine was still running but at an idle i fly real high to insure i have plenty of error space i was about 200 up when it happind i just exeted a flip, my advice tho is practise doing autos all day on your sim, i mean do flips and stuff and randomly hit the thr hold on your sim and get used to doing crazy autos thats wat saved me and maybe next time it could save you, but at least it wasnt more than $200$ dmage on your heli!1992 3000gt vr4

ez-flier rrVeteran Vermont | Sorry to hear about the crash djlock, always a bummer. What kind of fuel were you running before, and what did you switch to?

DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | I was running cool power 15% before. Flew fine. Switched to a mixed fuel both cool power but 12.5% and 30%. I doubt that is the problem. Im guessing the engine was reving too high? Well Its deffinetly the engine, not a casual flame out. It feels really gritty in there.

DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | I got pics of the inside!Jesus chris the connecting rod broke near one end and then busted up the bottom side of the piston. Its kind of scratchwes up inside but I can fix that. How much is a new piston and connecting rod? Glad it didnt break anyother part of the engine. I was actualy liking this engine until today! I should richen it like crazy. heh (i think it gave the engine too much power. Question! Does mixing 12.5% and 30% blend in making it 22% or does it make it 42%? Personaly and Im quite sure I have it right it would make about 22% but for some reason, 42 % sounds like it could have done the trick. hehe

Piston cost 30 bucks, connector cost about 20. Might as well get a new engine for 75. Enjoy!

![]() rrElite Veteran Rockford, Illinois | It's like adding oil to gas. If you mix 2 oz. of oil to a gallon of gas and then add one gas of gas to this mix, you actually added 1 oz. of oil to 2-gallons of gas.
Does mixing 12.5% and 30% blend in making it 22% or does it make it 42%?

DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | http://rcwerks.devnul.org/albums/al...First_Crash.wmvThats the link to the video. Its kind of big. I got tired of showing crappy files so I left it as is this time. Enjoy, tell me what you guys think. Its not much but you can see where I crashed. I didnt hit throttle hold so the controls for the auto was pretty damn sensitive. (Pitch wise).

Drunk Monk rrProfessor Preston, UK | You were unlucky with that auto, I thought you'd got away with it too but the tail must have dug in at the last second. Not bad flying though

DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | Personaly, I think I should have richen the mixture a great deal. It was quite odd to begin with because if you saw both of my videos, one with woods and one with carbons (this one) the one with woods idled without the blades spinning at all. When I first started the engine with the new fuel, I noticed something different from the beginning.Well I should have taken my time and whent through the engine. You are right, I have no one to blame but myself. When I heard that weird noise I was shocked because I thought the battery died. When I did some piros, I saw the volt meter in the red zone which caught me off guard but I flew anyways. After I crashed, it was in the green zone so I actualy had the opportunity to save it but it was pretty far away and I think I landed one side heavier which caused the crash. Crash kit cant cover eveything here. The spindles and main mast are fine, I need the tail boom stabalizers, Yesterday I did some cutting with the horizontal fin (Dont want one so I just made the bracket) tail linkage has a very slight bend in it which can be fixed but the guides are all broken, Tail gear box is I guess the biggest damage next to the rotor blades. I called TT left a message. I still got waranty on this baby so if I do get a replacement, I will be back flying with a repair cost at about 30-40 bucks.![]() ![]() ![]()

DjLock rrVeteran Leonia, NJ | I know your lying about the camera work... lol we got this small mini dv cam off ebay we saw in costco. PVGS33. Works great for something only 4 inches long, and like 3 inches high. I was actualy intending on doing my first loop yesterday and possibly crashing while in the process of completing a loop. Instead I crashed while hovering. I was going to fly today with my second raptor but there is just too much to fiddle right now with it because the tracking is off, few things need to be reversed in the tx, and my tail isnt set up properly because I have a certain problem on initialspool up which I think can lead to bigger problems. Otherwise, I would be flying by tonight but I got school to concentrate on as well. ![]()
