I am currently building a Raptor 50 V2 and I have a question at Step 6: Main Frame Assembly-Part2.

I assume that part 16 (Elevator Arm Control Shaft) should slide completely into part 6 (Bearing).

In my kit the part is very tight and with reasonable force I can only get the part 16 about halfway into part 6.

I reckon with extra force it could be made to fit complete but I'm wondering whether it should be this tight and I'm also worried about damaging the bearing.

To give you an idea, if I were to force the bearing on I doubt I would be able to remove it again.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Cheers,

Nigel

Nigel, part 16 could be molded funny. Take a flat file to it, and lightly go around the bearing diameter.

I had another look at noticed that the fit of the components on both sides of the heli

(16) Elevator Arm Control Shaft
(18) Elevator Arm Parallel Lever

Have identical tight fits.

All I've tried so far is reasonable hand force and I can't get them to fit fully. I worried about pre-loading the bearing but I'm also concerned that it should be a very tight fit.

Can anyone confirm?

Basically my parts are such that I will only be ble to get the parts into the bearing by considerable force or by just trying to tighten the screw in the hope that will draw the parts together (although as the screw is going into plastic it may strip first).

If I were to force the bearings on, I doubt they would come off again. Does this sound right ?

Cheers,

Nigel

They shouldn't be that tight that they won't come off again, although I can't see why that would be a problem as you will never damage that part. Maybe a little sand paper might be in order. But you would then need to be able to remove the bearing from the collective lever should you need to split the frames for any reason. I've always found removing parts 16 and 18 to remove the collective lever incredably tight.
