I have 3 DS8311 servos that used to be 8411 servos until I sent them to JR and had them upgraded. The gears in them now are metal. I wanted to replace the gears since I crashed and I ordered new gears for them and the gears I got are plastic but they all look the same so they should work. Are the metal gears better or should I replace the gears anyway with the new plastic ones?

The 8311's are supposed to be plastic internal gears and a metal final gear. Plastic gears are better then metal gears. 8411SA's have plastic gears too. The 8411's have alloy gears and aren't recogmended for helicopter use.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I will replace all the gears except the final gear then. Thanks for the quick reply since I have the servo apart and didn't know what to do.
