My Schulze manual says the charging cables must be at least 2.5 sq mm in cross sectional area for the charger to realize it's full potential, this is approx a 0.9mm diameter wire. Can some body please explain this rationale, when the leads connected to most R/C batteries are the standard servo type size anyway and no where near 0.9mm dia! I have 0.9mm diameter wire, but even if I want to use them, how do you crimp these onto a standard Futaba/JR type connector anyway? I am using heavy duty servo wires as my charging cables, but my Schulze refuses to go above 1.2 A on Auto C when I charge my 2400 mAh NiCads when it should at least be 2.4A! Thanks for any explaination.

I only use the large dia wire when charging battaries that can take the high amps. TX and RX batts cant handle high amps through the standard wires so I only use the thin wire from charger to socket.
makes no difference IMO.
(I charge a max of 1.8amps on RX packs on standard wires)

Ryan.

Seems to me Schulze only considered clearing their bottleneck and not the R/C Industry's!! It's all fine and good to have a charger that can force all those amps in, but the wires in standard off-the-shelf R/C equipment just can't take it!!!
