I'm new to this and I need help, I have a BERG 5 channel receiver in a Shogun with a Futaba 401 gyro, where do I plug the gain plug in the receiver(the one from the gyro with one wire), also the Speed Control gets real hot with out running the motor, thanks. Bobby

Sorry, you need 6 channels for a GY401.
You can use a GY201 with a 5 channel.

Berg Offers a Full 6 channel receiver that you could upgrade to, it also features optional fail safe. the gain lead from the 401 would plug into the channel 5 output.

If you have the original Berg5, they have a channel expander that takes the receiver to 9 channels. I think it is about $30.

As far as the ESC getting hot, which ESC and how hot are you talking about? If ESC gets hot without the motor running, it is usually a BEC issue.
