Hi All,

Have any UK Runryder members used Heliproz for buying kits? I am considering buying thier VelociRaptor 50 kit, as it seem like a really good deal. I am interested to know how much they charge for shipping, and the likelyhood that I would be charged VAT, as they use UPS as the carrier.

Cheers
Russ

Contact Heliproz for shipping rates. As far as VAT contact your customs office.

Thanks

jb_Turner, Well thanks for your 'help' , I have already contacted Heliproz and I am waiting for a response. As for the customs charges, I was looking for a response as to who have been charged VAT when buying items through Heliproz (or any other company for that matter) with the carrier being UPS.

Cheers

Not Heliproz, but I received batteries and stuff from Duralite a few months back. Delivered by UPS and no customs interference

Smaller package than a new kit though.

Re Heliproz delivery to UK

I bought my Hirobo Lama from them last year. It was ordered on a Tuesday and I had it at my house the following Thursday. Unfortunately I did not escape the customs man, and had to pay around £70. But even with that it came out cheaper than here and I also got a white version which is not being imported. I would go with it. I have allways found Heliproz very helpful.

Hi Coffdrop,

thanks for your reponse. Was the shipping expensive? On what cost did the import duty work out at £70?

Cheers

Try Cyberheli as I am in the process of ordering one with the following

Raptor 50 V2
Webra 52AAR and Weston tuned pipe
3 x Futaba 9252
Gy401 9254 como
1 x 3001

All the above works out at $1,000 / £550 which I also expect to pay £50 shipping and the dreaded import duty on top

Last kit from Cyberheli I got hit for £35 in import taxes.

Best of luck

The Outcome

Hi All,

Thanks for all the replies regarding Heliproz shipping charges.

The most interesting response came via a PM from Bob J at Skyline Models (UK model shop). Bob offered me an almost identical package as Heliproz for a very very good price.

Yesterday I drove over to Skyline and collected the kit and will start the build today. I am happy that I have supportred the UK model industry, and have got a good deal, everyone is a winner!

If you are thinking of placing an order overseas for your heli stuff, before you do, give Bob at Skyline a call, you may be surprised

Cheers

Skyline does it again :)

Hello All,

Yet again, Skyline models have done me a super deal on an item I was going to buy from abroad.

I was after a YS91 & Hatori muffler for my Raptor 60 - 90 conversion, but was not keen to pay UK prices compared to what Cyberheli/Zooms were offering it for. I was also concerned that since this was an engine, if it went pop I would have trouble getting it repaired under warranty.

A quick 'PM' exchange with bobj at Skyline got me a very very good deal on the engine & muffler

I would just like to say thanks to bob and the team at Skyline models for excellent prices and brilliant service

Cheers
