yes.

90's fit the same motor mounts as 60's and 70's. A lot of fans already have the little hole in them for a governor magnet

Yes,

Most 90 fans are pre-drilled to accept the governor magnets as well.

If you think about it, the distance doesn't matter (as long as it aligns with the sensor position); a revolution is the same at the centre and the edge - It just covers more distance (circumference) in the same time.

your right cjw. a revolution is a revolution. do you prefer the standard sensor or the optical. if the optical, where do you get one.
thanks

Only tried the standard sensor. I couldn't easily get hold of an optical one in the UK so stuck with the standard one. No problems so far.

You have to drill the larger bracket to fit the 50. It's a pain because the brackets are super hard! Good luck!

On another note the opticals seem to work fine and are really realiable and easier to set up since you don't have to get the sensor as close to the fan.

It's not so difficult, just a standard metal dril does the trick on the bracket.

I have found there are two grades of metal used on the sensor mounts, hard and very hard, no problem drilling the hard one, gave up on the other.
