For some reason the tail it just spins around. Gyro (GY240) and all servos (H50) are moving in the right direction, paddles pointing the right way. It worked(hovered) at the beginning for a bit (10 minutes) until I stripped the gears. After I replace them, did not. Pretty frustrated.

Thank you

Make sure the tail input gear is touching motor pinion on the upper side. Otherwise your tail is spinning the wrong direction.

Also make sure tail drive moves freely and it's not too tight.

Hope this helps.

Yes it does. Actually I have turned around the tail gear, trying different variations, still nothing.

Thanks,

What gear did you strip? If it was the tail end, you could have put it on round the wrong way, that would make the heli spin in circles... Just a thought.

Actually I have striped both and replaced both. I have had the tail gear mounted both ways and it still spins counterclockwise.

Spinning?

By "spinning counterclockwise" does that mean that the nose is turning to the left? Also, when you replaced the stripped tail gears, how did you locate where the tail rotor hub was positioned on the tail rotor output shaft? If you changed the location from before the stripped gears, then you may have changed the setup enough that the amount of input necessary to counter the spin is no longer available. On mine, the tail output shaft sticks out of the hub about 2 mm. An instruction manual from here in Germany shows that the end of the shaft should touch an imaginary line drawn across the outside surfaces of the blade holders. Just a thought.

If you dont hear the chatter of a slipping gear, chances are your brass gear at the end of the tailshaft came loose

I've checked the tailshaft and is solid.

If all that you have done is to change the gears, then I think that Bankshot probably has the answer and in consequence, you are no longer putting enough pitch on the tail blades.

I did set the shaft exactly where it was. The pitch of the blades from center would move at least 37 degrees each way.

Is your Gyro sense the right way round? Check operation - move the heli to the left manually, the tail should try to turn the heli to the right. If not, you've found the problem and either need to reverse the gyro sense, or physically turn the gyro on its head (think the 240 has a switch).
