I know this is a difficult question but I'm thinking of getting a vibe when it comes out and I wanted to have an idea of how much an average crash cost.
something like tail boom, transmission, main shaft, tail shaft, spindle....

just to have an idea....

thanks

It's really going to depend on what broke during the crash? Replacing the main things like a main shaft, feathering spindal, bevel gear, flybar, blades, boom, torque tube, boom supports and whatever else brakes? When I crashed my Vigor CS, not a huge crash just a small 1 meter high crash it cost around $350.00-$400.00 USD. That's including a set of V-Blades. I'm sure if you do a full on dive into the ground it will cost you well over $500.00. It isn't the cheapest helicopter to crash.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I fly my Vigor with care, it will not be a cheap repair.

You don't want to own one of these if you're a bit strapped for cash, get a Freya instead

I have both

Vibe 90, Vibe 50, Vigor CS x2,
Dyna-x, Knight 503D, Logo 10,
TRex 500, Furion, Gaui EP200

Well, I'm not particularly warned about it. was just curious.
So it's in the same price range of the fury...

guess I'll wait for the vibe to come out and look for spare prices at a later time.

thanks

No kidding. My last Vigor crash cost just over $1000 canadian because i couldn't stop it from beating itself to death when the battery pack was damaged and i lost servo control. that was my second crash, my first one with the vigor was a drive from about 200ft. I was in the middle of a stall turn when the tail power failed, i didn't even have the chance to auto as it was spinning too fast, just watch it fall. that one cost another $800 canadian, but it would have been closer to 1000 if the hobby shop had not given me some deals.
Now....i take it easy, when i try something new or something i know might be disorienting, i do it really really high. My second crash was a result of flying backwards barely above the deck when the tail drifted around and messed me up, dumb thumbs took care of the rest.

Amen to that, height never caused any damage. Just make sure you don't lose orientation tho and it gets away from you.

The crash cost should be the same, most of the parts are the same.

The less time I have the more I get done.

All of the "high end" machines cost an arm and a leg to purchase and then an arm , a leg, and some other extremity to repair.....

My take on it is that if you have to worry about "how much will it cost to repair, etc....." then you should probably consider buying a Raptor......

iachia,

These comments are not directed at you in particular, just some "general" thoughts on the topic.....

I'm very aware of the fact that every high end machine is going to suck big money having owned some...
The reason I'm asking is because we don't have a JR importer here (well, there is one but he has ubsolutly crazy prices) so I'll have to make all my orders from the US or from Cyberheli. This means I'll have to pay for customs and VAT...
So a 300-400$ crash could cost me 20\30% more...
That's why I'm having some esitation... I really like the model but even if I can afford to repair it I don't know if I'm willing to add a 20% just because I like it...
On the other hand the fury is locally distributed but I don't really like it that much... too many parts and difficult to work on...
I'm in the market for something to replace my milli 3 wich is a fine model but is not giving me what I want. I want a 3D wild animal and the vibe looks good.
Decision time...
