hi guys
just about to get my first vario cs. Im goint use it for camera work. what pitch curve should i use for norm/ idle1?
the ship has the lower gearing and k/n filter.and flat bottom vario?? blades, the white ones. I will probably go to sym. soon to reduce the unwanted lift in a cross wind.
thanks

What's a Vario CS

Vario do not make a CS..... If you mean the heli kit produced in the USA then it is not a Vario and probably does not use genuine Vario parts.

BURN!

Man that was a good one!

The CS is a hybird, though it does use some Vario parts, not sure how many.

Standard pitch curves apply...
Hover -3,+4,+10
Idle1 -5,+4,+10
auto -10 to -3, +12

You may however want to use a shallow curve for camera work, something like -3 to +8 would give you really good control on the altitude. I guess it will depend on your camera setup also.

I ment to say SC, for Stretch Configuration(800's), and yes it has airstair frames. My friends fly the same one and it hasent fallen from the sky yet, so I guess Asterix and Obelix are still safe.

I guess

It won't fall anywhere . BTW which parts you think might be not original .. I have the bird for more than a year but I can't make out the difference in any of them

my fellow photographer at airquesthelicam has 2 and he loves them. The 25mm boom upgrade also looks sweet, but they are tail heavy with the CCPM ,but not too much of an issue with camera work.

Tail heavy ain't the word for it. 4500Mah 4-cell 5/4A RX pack, 2700Mah 8-cell A's for starter pack, and a 16oz brick of lead to get it level at 1/2 tank of fuel.

When you get yours, used, or new but built, do yourself a huge favor and tear it completly down and rebuild it. I bought mine new but built and i almost lost mine, twice! It amazes me how people just throw these things together and don't use lock tight, or forget to tighten down bolts.

Very good point. Never looked at it that way as I have always built my own. Funny you say that because I am locktite crazy. I use it on everything. A little blue locktite for this screw, and a little locktite for this one. Oh, Did I locktite them all?

Mr D
I have a friend who has a few vario, he will help me reassemble it and go over it with me. This will be lifting up to 12lbs! ive heard they can lift their own weight!-16lbs i think?. improbably going to get a TJ as i only have a 9chp, to keep the t-curve in check. Ive seen these do light 3d and not even use 100% throttle!

ericslife I'll tell you now, your in for some rough roads trying to use the TJ, i had one and ended up sending it back. The GV-1 and The Stator Gator is the only way to go, and everyone else here will tell you the same. You can set the GV-1 up so you only have to use one channel on your RX.

I put a classified add for a GV-1 but only reply was from Hong Kong.
Still looking for a GY-401 and a GV-1. If you know anyone then please let me know by PM. Well off to bed but I will be checking through the night. Get a glass of water, check RR. Go take a leak, check RR. I am sure you get the point.
Thanks again everyone.

I just flew my new Benzine trainer this morning and it flies great. I have two Benzine trainers with CCPM Airstar frames and 4 servos (90 degree CCPM). I think the side frames from Airstar are great. Both are stretch versions with #419 blades(815mm). One has a G230RC engine and the new one has the G260RC engine. Both have a 4cell cp3600 battery pack up front and both have 20oz of lead at the very front. I made a ply box in front of the normal batt box to get the battery and lead weights as far foreward as possible.

Parts, Extras, Upgrades

Where do we go for parts? I know that sometimes the cheapest priced dont always mean the best responce times and CS. Any pointers? I will be going with a camera mount from http://www.rotokraft.com.
