i used the fms simulator at first, but it only took me so far.
Basically, I practiced in my garage. took about 10 battery charges to get me fairly decent.
but... i broke some parts.
one burned out hummingboard (i think this was a bad board)
1 burned out tail motor (switched to dd tail)
1 set of blades.
1 swashplate
1 blade holder.
canopy is cracked.
oh, and lost the horizontal wing on the boom (not needed)
and broke the two boom supports, again not needed.

Congrats!!!!

Now you will begin to experience the full pleasure of your HB. It's so much nicer when you have more flight time vs. fix time.

Way to go!

Soon you'll be learning FFF, piroettes, and rapid climb outs! It gets really fun now!

well, it's back to the hobby shop, again. Made the mistake of letting my brother fly it. No idea how he ended up hitting the tail motor in just such a way as to smash the shaft into the motor. seems like it broke the brushes inside. I should have just told him to wait until he had his fixed.....

I really love my humming bird. Today, a friend and I dared to fly it in a wind, the bird is pretty much stock, but the humming bird V3 fought the wind, 'twas fun. I tried to fly her nose in, but ended up struggling with a ball of fun, fighting the wind

Check out the video

I have ordered a set of new landing gear from Helihobby. anyone have experience with these? I liked the idea that they screw onto the frame. got tired of my stock ones falling out.
http://www.helihobby.com/html/hummingbird_upgrades.html

they are the retrofit gear for the V1, V2, and presumably, V3 Hb's.

They look a lot stronger than stock. will see.
