hi
i got like90 blades but found that it wouldnt take off with a 10T pinion. I waited for an 11T pinion and put this on hoping it would fly, but it still will not take off.
Obviously my stock motor isnt up to the job?

i have several j250's waiting around, including one with a capacitor on it, however they havent been screw tapped, and i havent really got the capability to do it.
is there anyother way to secure it in? or how hard is screw tapping?

thanks

Screw tapping is easy you can get tap and drill sets by size, from your LHS. Just drill a hole where you want it, and screw the tap into the hole and out again job done, one threaded hole. Its the positioning and making the holes that are the hard bits
Are you running 3s?

Hey Tom,

I think I read back a few thousand threads ago that some have had difficulty getting thier heli's airborn with the stock motor + Like 90's.

Plus too, your motor could have one foot in the grave.

3s helps..quite alot Is your throttle going to maximum at maximum stick? I find the like90's have less lift on my Zoom too, have you got any stock blades left to try it with? lol i know how to get it flyin, a plank and a brick, stick the plank on top of the brick with the heli at one end...then stamp on the other end ..sorry m8, you must be getting really frustrated as your heli hasnt been flying for ages now has it.

bloody ages lol.

but i know it will fly so its just keeping me going. the fun is in the fixing i tell my self

its pushing 3 or 4 months now since ive been flying properly. it flew kinda for about a day a couple of weeks ago, then my blades broke and now i have like90s it means i need a new motor.

its one thing after another!
but i always think the next thing will be the one to fix it.

i painted my like90s the other day, should i unpaint them (white spirit) cus ive just been told that the paint adds a lot of weight?

anyway for xmas my present will be brushless, which motor and controller should i get, with a budget of around £150? and can anyone recommend brushless tail?

Brushless try a 2015 himax and a Fiego tail with cc10's A good place to get esc is http://www.B-P-P.com the exchange rate is good and it works out about 1/4 cheaper than buying at home. Im thinking of getting brushless too, but my heli still flys great brushed, however my Lipos are getting a bit knackered now though.

Hi Hingus... I flew with the CC25 in my Hb for a long time... However I then wanted it to fit in a Zoom and so replaced it with a cc10. The cc25 is a bit heavier and more awkward to fit with thicker wires.

However, I can tell no difference in flight...

By the way.. when I first fitted Like90s I couldnt get more than a foot above the ground with 2s Li-pols. I went to 3s.

That century 370 is a lame duck. You will have no issues with the johnson or a gws speed300. Just dont try to run 3s on the johnson, it will last about 5 minutes. (but it will be an exciting 5 minutes)
The Himaxx 2015-4100 is great, and we have been testing the new Feigao motors, the short can 13 turn (If I remember right) is great, a little higher kv than the himaxx (4400 or something like that) and runs just as strong as the himaxx.

lol put the johnson on it!

i dont think it has power issues any more, but there is only so much you can tell from 4.3 seconds of hopping.

First time my LED's got caught in the head and tangled and broke the wires ill put em on again another time.

2nd time the motor fell off cus i could only glue it in.

the screws will go in OK, but the screw positions on the hummingbird frame obviously arent in line with both holes on the motor. it was my intention to just attatch it with one screw, but even screwing it with one screw it is either too close or too far away from the gear

any mounting tips that dont involve a drill (which i dont have, lol dont tell me i need to get one)
