Just wanted to order some parts from them and got the response that they don't want to ship to Taiwan (credit card fraud??). I offered to wire transfer the money to make sure they will get the money then ship the order, but they refused.

Funny part is that Taiwan is the home for Raptor, Zoom400, T-Rex450, Century Heli.. and many other heli stuff, but just is on their black list.

I've talked to many Taiwanese fliers, they said DeeTee is the only US store they've encountered that doesn't want to do business with Taiwanese.

I am curious to know that if I go to their shop and hand over the money to them and ask them to ship the stuff to Taiwan, will they do that?

Anybody knows any inside story about the real reason? (credit card fraud , come on )

Last time I tried to buy from Denis, he would not ship to Canada neither... But that's a long time ago (at least 1.5 year)

Also, in a previous job, we had lot's of trouble with orders coming from Taiwan and Russia... I don't know why but we ended being very carefull with order we where about to send to those places.... sad but true

Curious to know that what kind of troubles you folks had? You shipped the stuff but they didn't pay?

Like what I said, I offered to give the CASH (through wire transfer) so that they will have the money guarenteed then ship the stuff. Shouldn't it be me worried that what if they don't ship after receiving my money?!

We where getting all kind of fraud. False credit card, and stuff like that. The most common was "charge back". that's when they call their credit card company 2 weeks later and says they never bought anything. The company sends them a declaration from and bingo, they get refounded. The problem is that the paiement company takes the money back and charged an supplementary 40$ us fees!

That cuts your profit a lot!

Good reason

I know Dennis and there has to be a good reason behind it.
I would imagine it has something to do with not being able to track the shipments and/or insure it.
Even though you pay by money transfer, cash, money order what have you.
If you don't receive the goods then it falls back on the vendor to make it right no matter who was at fault.
I would venture to guess that is why he is shying away from international shipments.
Deetee is a small business that is run by the family and even one small lost shipment means alot to him.

Again like it was mentioned before ask Dennis about his policy for shipments outside the US.

I manage some shopping baskets for some of my customers. Several of them are not interested in orders from Asia because the credits cards are 99% stolen.

1/ You get a nice fat order from Asia.
2/ It gets authorised by Visa (approval number issued)
3/ You do some research and they are ALL issued from from USA banks
4/ You send an email reply to the customer and ask for an explanation.
5/ You never get a reply.... (as expected)

6/ You contact Visa and they dont want to know - that sucks given that you have the address from where the fraud is occuring.

Not saying everyone in Asia is crooked but unfortunatley Internet crime has deep roots in Asia and lots of western countries get stung..

I'm suprised Taiwan is on the black list, too. Credit card fraud do exist, but just as they exist in the US. I would suggest opening a paypal account and see if Dennis would deal with that.

I've heard horror stories from vendors shipping to Malaysia and Russia where buyer would claim goods never arrived. It could be poor/corrupt postal system where items get stolen along the way, or just dishonest individuals. At the end vendor have to chose refunding the money or sending the items again.
