I want to implement a slider on my throttle hold condition to set the idle speed during an auto.

BUT...

I want to limit the lower end of the slider to the normal idle speed I have selected. That way I can't kill the engine with the slider, only increase the speed during an auto.

I'm not sure how to get this to work. I can set it so the slider controls a range above and below idle speed, but not so that it only affects the region above idle. Any thoughts?

Thanks, John Cadwell

wouldn't it work to set the desired slider
to the bottom and then go into hold (and HLD)
and then set the desired throttle setting?

I think you need to change the minimum ATV/AFR in the hold condition to achieve this...

I think thats pretty much what Z means as well...

When not just have separate throttle trims (S instead of C). When entering the Hold condition, adjust the throttle trim to alter the engine speed required. When exiting that condition the throttle trim will be as you left them in the other conditions.

Volume control

There is a VOL control in HLD (throttle hold) which you can assign a slider to. Have you tried that? It works like a charm.

Greetings,

Francis

I'm using the volume control within the HLD menu. The problem with using it like a regular setup is that the slider will kill the engine if you just initialize it. I had the hold set at 15%, with the same ATV as all the others. If you slide the slide up, it increases the rotor speed. But if it is more than 20%, the GV1 won't turn off. In addition, if the slider was slid down, the throttle percentage decreased, which would kill the engine. Both were bad solutions.

What I ended up doing was reducing my throttle ATV on the bottom side, and decreasing my hold percentage down to zero. This in affect let me keep the same hold position on the carburetor, but made the slider "think" it was starting at zero and working up. The bottom half of the slider doesn't do anything because the ATV limits its ability to lower the throttle, since the ATV is already zero. It also faked the governer into being willing to turn off, even with a higher headspeed, because the slider wouldn't exceed 20% when all the way up.

I don't know if that makes sense, but it worked.

As a result, I shot an entire tank of inverted autos, one right after another. The slider let me cheat on the first two or three, and then ease into full autos for the rest of that tank. I've done inverted autos before, but had a bad crash and am easing back into it. I'm also using my Sceadu 50 to practice, so I needed to get it right, as the margins are slim. I'm back in business. Thanks.

Thanks, John Cadwell
