I put all 4 screws in after removing the boom, the two left get tight, the two right won't, they just keep turning and turning. I looked on the bottom and both screws have passed through the nuts and the nuts arent spinning since they are the same shape as the hole. Are the nuts soft with possible messed up threads? Anyone replace them with a capscrew and new metric or standard nut?

Those screws are really soft, so the thread will strip really easily, especially once you've taken it apart to replace the gears a few times. I've replaced the screws on mine, but the nuts didn't seem to have stripped. The thread is M2, or you can buy the Zoom replacement screw package for considerably more.
