Guys,

Once I download the new scene, what file or files do I save to?

Copy the files into a new folder in your Reflex / Umwelt / wlp directory. You will then need to convert the .JPG files (usually s1.jpg or s2.jpg and a smaller one called S1_a.jpg or similar.) into .bmp files

Name the folder appropriately as it seems to be what the list in reflex uses.

I was going to take up Origami, but someone said the local club folded.

Okay, I know save the files into a new folder that I would create in the Reflex directory but how the heck do I convert .JPG into .BMP. ??

This sounds as if it takes some experience?

Open the JPG file with your favorite graphics program, and then choose
F ile S ave as, and you should see a selection box for file type - instead of the jpg that it should be suggesting, click the drop arrow and choose Windows / OS2 Bitmap (.bmp) from the list and you're set.

The files get converted to jpg's because the BMP's are much larger.
They take quite a bit more time to upload and download.

Are there any other suggestions for acquiring conversion software? Like something I don't have to pay for

Guys,

I downloaded just about every scene from rcsim.com's first page.

Only 4 of them worked. I'm running the latest version of XTR on XP professional. Some of them give me a debug error and others a different error.

I tried comparing the files and converting the Jpeg or BMP to Jpeg or Bbmp to match those that worked but it didn't help?

The following worked fine which I simply just downloaded and extracted to my .WLP file.

1)Hamburg2004
2)Heliteam Waldbüttelbrunn
3)Hof Schrank/SQF
4)WRCS Hoverpit Sydney

I noticed they all had similar files.

These didn't work and I don't know why??

1)Annenheide_II Update
2)Southpark
3)Annenheide
4)Panorama
5)Dormagen
6)MBC Markt Schwaben
7)Apple tree bay
8)MSV Plankstadt

Can anyone tell me why these didn't work??

Razmo,
All of the scenes that you are having problems with work on XTR under XP SP2 Home Edition.

It would help if you can give the file names in each directory along with the File sizes. From that someone should be able to help you.

PS. Files should be .jpg (not jpeg), or .bmp,.

Gus,
I'm not sure if I understand you? You want me to show all the sub files from each of the scenes that didn't work?

Razmo,
The only files you need for processing if you have V 5.01 is:
S2 (or S1) .jpg
S2 (or S1).wlp
S2_1a (or S1_1a).bmp

Prior to V 5.01, you need to convert the S2.jpg to a .bmp with a pixel density of 8160x3060 pixels.

You may have other files in the directory also, but the ones that I listed is all that is necessary.

In one case, the Bedmond directory, the person who supplied the files has multiple .wlp files which may be selected when selecting the scene to start in different positions.

As an example in my Dormagen Subdirectory I have:
S2.jpg 5,779,232
S2.wlp 26,988
S2_1a.bmp 12,582,966

When you change scenes, XTR will use these files to create the .dds files it needs to display the scene.

During scene processing, sometimes you wil get an error. Just press the ignore key, and it should go on processing.

I have had a couple of occasions where the processing has hung up, and by ending XTR then restarting it and selecting the scene that I want to process, it will get past the error. This has always been a C++ error. I suspect that if I let it hang long enough, it would continue on by itself, but I have never taken the time to find out.

If you would prefer, you can send me a PM with the information, and I can verify that it is the same as I have working.
