This is kinda OT, it's not info for my heli's. But I know how motors work etc., but I'm wanting to fart around w/ some little dc brushed motors that I have while I'm yet again waiting for Shogun parts.
I've looked on google etc., but can't find any info on how to kind of figure out what kind of rpms and/or tourque I can get out of brushed dc motors by altering the number of windings etc.
Can anyone give me any insight or post links to somewhere that can explain the relationship of the windings in the small dc brushed motors to rpm and tourque? Thank you,
j

You can do a search on R/C electric cars.

Used to run them and the rules of thumb were.
Lower windings with larger wire gave more power but shorter runs. The RPM's and amps will be higher.
More windings with smaller wire gave less power but longer runs. The RPM's and amps will be lower.
It's a trade off.
More power or more run time.

Let's bring back survival of the fitest.

I could never figure out what guage wire to use, stock "car motors" are 27 guage? and if going to double or triple I could never get the right wire.
