Hello again,

Im exeriencing a problem with my raptor 30 v2. Something is getting "jammed"

ok basically if i place my right hand side stick (my tilts) all the way to a corner, lets say top right, i hold it there.

Whilst that stick is in that position, if i move my left stick up and down, for collective and pitch, my engine servo moves, but my blade pitch one does not. When i release my right hand side stick a little bit, it unjams, and the left stick does its stuff. Has anyone experienced this problem with their helicopter? what can you suggest i try to fix this problem?

I included a video recording of the problem to explain a bit easier.

it works fine at n e s w but i think at one point i am going to want to put is up somewhere like ne, then im going to need to change my pitch and its going to go bad.

Thats why im asking now and not after it crashes my helicopter.

do you think it might help if i applied a little grease around my swash plate?

As far as I know, there is no manuver that requires "full corners". For this reason, and to prevent you from going there (even by mistake), there's such a thing as a "cyclic ring" that's basically a round template that fits over top of the right stick opening in the radio and prevents this from happening. I made one yesterday from a big washer.

Another way to get around corner binding is to limit your ATV's such that it doesn't happen, but this also limits normal control as well.

I use the corners....only cause i am a loony.

It will bind, and you won;t notice this for a LOOONG time

Chaos and a couple of other maneuvres can use it.

Don;t think you will be doing that for quite a while yet ;-)

In which case you will set up your head to not bind ;-)

Get a cyclic ring or limit your throws so it doesn't bind

Your stick gimbal is square and the swashplate is round.

Its not possible m8!! Think about it the swashplate shouldnt work there its round and the cyclic stick moves in a rectangle. Im sure u could still do your roll with out it being right in the corner!

Is than not a catch 22? Do you not then lose the maximum throw that u are getting at 12,3,6,9 stick positions? Meaning loosing roll rate?

There's a section in Ray's Authoritive Heli Manual.

The roll rate your going to loose by adjusting the atv's won't be signifigant compared to binding the swashplate in flight.

If you use up or down and right and adjust the atv's you should be fine, since the swash always has a little right tilt to compensate for translation.

cyclic rings are for guys to lazy to fix it right,
Bollox, cyclic rings give you maximum travel at evey point, how can that possible be lazy?

With a futaba radio you can use a large servo wheel, like you said you already have one. Just drill the center hole bigger, unscrew the stick and stick it on, It should be the right size, just alter your atv's if needed so that it doesn't bind and your problems all go away.
