This sounds like an MAH fishing expedition. What differences do you think you would find?

May be heli becomes more or less stable in hover...
Or one of them may be more suitable for 3d or f3c...

What foil?

Alex I'll take Airfoils for $1000 please. Ha Ha.

No seriously , the top foil looks like a naca 00012 which should behave like most of the constant cord blades. Very good performance. While the lower profile looks like a Eppler at about 12% which I think is more suited for sail planes or a low speed high lift applications at low incidences. I know very little about foil dynamics so I'm not sure were your trying to go with this. Do you mind enlightening us?

1000?!!!
I agree.
As far as I know, second type of foil used in acrobatic planes (ex. Su-26,29) to reduce boundary layer separation (by reducing curve of surface near aileron joint) during usage of ailerons.
But when I've saw this foil in my SAB blades(carbon, 550mm), I was very wondered.
ps. I don't know wat is PPLE experiment.

Alex there is a game show host here in the states who's name is Alex. It's a very hard game to win at as the questions are very hard. Have you been able to get your hands on a set of Mah blades? From the questions you are asking you are just the kind of pilot who would appreciate the design and function of these blades.

I graduted from aviation institute.
And I air force officer in reserve.
It is just professional interest.

MAH in russia is not popular.
Fortunately.

Show Me

So you haven't flown a set of Mah blades? With your Dr.Ph. it should be quite evident to you the advantages of these blades. Your SAB's may have a nice tip as do many other brands but the Mah airfoil is designed for the various flight speeds it will encounter accross it's blade span. You may marvel at tips but you have an entire blade to gloat over with the Mah. If you have time why don't you do some testing. I would propose a very simple test to compare the most popular blades to the Mah. I see a collective rotor head mounted to a test stand powered by an electric motor and speed controler. Both of which are tempeture controled, What I would test for is the amount of current draw it takes for a fixed rpm through out the the pitch range and plot a graph for each blade. I would also see what the trust output is and how much power it takes to generate that thrust. The last test would be to see at what angle do the blades stall. You complile that and I will rest my case. I already know who will be the clear winner. The problem with finding the best blade is that public trends get in the way of letting people see the beauty of a well engineered product. I know lots of people who run the MP2 because it claims to give up to 1/2 hp increase. Well I know for a fact the Mah blades do the same they provide a reduction in power requirements from you engine and that leaves you with some power in reserve for hardcore 3D or what ever.
