I've got my shogun finished and flying around. It can fly and do stall turns but anything else if just really slow. At full cyclic in any direction it is very slow. My flips are pretty much 20ft backwards loops. I know I wouldn't be able to roll the dumb thing without it crashing. I'm looking for some help with this problem.

Here's my set-up:
Motor: Himaxx 2025-4200
ESC: CC Pheonix 25
Servos: HS-55 Cyclic and Collective HS-50 Rudder
Battery: TP G2 1320 mah

Any help here because I've seen videos of guys just thrashing theirs around like crazy.

Thanks

I LOVE MY EVO!!!

I almost have the same set up and still tinkering to get the best performance. I haven't tried any loops or rolls yet but I can tell you the heli flies very good and stable; I don't think I will have any problem when I try to do some stunts.

It may be related to your head speed; try to increase your headspeed and make sure you are using the max pitch range.

One other thing to make her more responsive is that to change the flybar paddels. I heard that piccolo paddles give quick repsonse.

Lightened paddle holders are a must. Same with the paddles modify the stock ones or get Piccolo Pro paddles.

Lightened Paddel Holders and Lighten the Paddels Themselves. Or just Put Piccolo pro paddels on..
If your using the stock Lead anchors for paddel attatchments it WONT roll or flip at all.

You can also change the bell-hiller mixing ratio by drilling a hole that moves the z-bend link which connects to the blade grip closer to the washout mixing linkage z-bend. This will weight the direct cyclic input to the blades more than the indirect gyroscopic smoothed input (bell mixing).

You can also take the right-angled arm which links the fly-bar to the ball link and bend it to an angle less than 90 degrees. This will move the flybar link closer to the head yoke, which will give more of a cyclic input to the mechanical gyro (ie., the flybar). That will improve responsiveness.

The downside is that doing either of these things will put more stress on your cyclic servos.

What Spread Out! said with the paddles apparently works very well. From what I've heard though, you have a choice between stock paddles with weights, or piccolo pro paddles without weigths. I haven't heard of anyone doing the piccolo paddles with weights yet.

I put Sparrow Products Lightened Paddle Holders with Piccolo Pro Paddles on mine and it flips and rolls like crazy. I can do stationary flips and stay in the same spot in the sky. Rolls are alittle slower, probably rolls stationary in a 18 inch circle.

Here is a link where you can get both and these guys are great. While your there, look at their videos of the Shogun, they thrash it well.

That is great! I stand corrected on that one. Do you have any pictures of your lightened weights with piccolo paddles??

I should add that with the Piccolo Pro Paddles and lightened holders, it awfully quick in a hover. I would not reccomend for new fliers or first flights. You have to stay on top of the cyclic stick when hovering, or it will leave FAST!
